What Part 61 says about PPL theory exams.
Six: Air Law, Meteorology, Navigation, Human Factors, Aircraft Technical Knowledge and Flight Radiotelephony. All six must be passed within three years of sitting the first (rule 61.17(c)), and each pass is valid for three years.
70% of the available marks, under rule 61.17(b). If you fail a subject three times inside 90 days there is a 90-day stand-down before you can sit it again.
There is no required order. Many instructors suggest Flight Radio or Human Factors first because they are short and the material is used from your first solo, and Air Law early because everything else refers back to it.
