Student pilots, in their own words.

“I find it incredibly helpful that you give a short description on why the correct answer is what it is when you get a question wrong, rather than just spitting out the answer.”

SP Student Pilot Verified · New Zealand

“Compared to the alternatives, your prices are a lot more affordable. It’s great value for money and will definitely help people paying their way through the theory component.”

The de-brief

Every miss, explained.

Submit and the score is on screen. Then every question you dropped comes back: what you picked, the right answer, the reasoning, and the syllabus point to go and read.

Paid codes send it to your inbox, so it is still there the night before the real thing.

Q17  A TAF reading CAVOK specifically indicates that…

Your answerCloud and visibility OK for VFR
CorrectVis 10km+, no cloud below 5000ft, no CB
Why

CAVOK is a defined term, not a general impression. All three conditions have to hold at once, and cloud above 5000ft is still permissible. That last part is where most candidates lose it.

The engine

Never the same exam twice.

Every paper is drawn fresh from a bank of 3,000 questions, and the options inside each one are shuffled. Sit a subject twice and you get two different papers.

You cannot memorise your way through it. You can only know it.

PAPER B

Your schedule

Buy today. Sit it when you're ready.

Training has weather days, money weeks and life in between. A code sits idle until you use it, so you sit the paper on the day your instructor says you're ready, not the day a subscription runs out.

Unused codes never expire. You only pay for exams you sit.

Free access

The free one isn't a demo.

Same engine, same clock, same de-brief. The only differences are the ones in the table.

It is a fixed twelve, so it is the same paper every time. Everything else is the real thing.

Questions people ask.

Straight answers. If yours is not here, email support and a person replies.

No, and it does not pretend to be. The Flying Kiwi is an independent study aid. What it gives you is a paper built to the same syllabus, the same question count and the same clock, so the real sitting holds no surprises. The official exam is sat with ASPEQ.

They are separate. A PPL code works on any PPL subject and a CPL code on any CPL subject; neither works across the line. CPL bundles are issued as a set, one, two or three codes for each of the six subjects, so you finish with a full round rather than a pool. A CPL single works on whichever CPL subject you choose first.

Unused codes never expire. Once you launch an exam with a code you have 24 hours to finish it, which is generous for a paper that runs 40 to 90 minutes. Your progress is saved automatically if the browser closes.

Yes. Each paper is drawn fresh from the bank on the server, and the options inside every question are shuffled. Sit the same subject twice and you get two different papers.

Your score and pass or fail straight away, on screen. Then a written de-brief to your email: every question you missed, what you chose, the correct answer, the reasoning, and the syllabus reference to revise.

Codes deliver digital content instantly, so there are no refunds for a change of mind. If a technical fault stops you using the service, you get a replacement code or a full refund under the Consumer Guarantees Act. Email support and it gets sorted.

Logo Before the day

The paper you sit on the day will be one you have never seen.

Terms and Conditions

01General terms

Welcome to The Flying Kiwi. By purchasing or using our access codes, you agree to these terms. These terms constitute a binding agreement between you and The Flying Kiwi regarding the use of our PPL mock exam simulator.

02Universal access codes and usage

Our service operates on a "Pay-As-You-Go" model using Universal Access Codes. By activating a code, you acknowledge the following rules:

  • Single attempt. One code provides access to exactly one mock exam attempt. Once an exam is submitted, the code is consumed and cannot be reused.
  • Subject locking. PPL codes and CPL single codes are universal within their licence until activated. Once you enter a code to start a specific subject (e.g. Air Law), the code becomes permanently locked to that subject.
  • Licence tiers. PPL codes work only on PPL subjects and CPL codes only on CPL subjects. CPL bundles are issued as a fixed set of codes, each already assigned to one of the six CPL subjects; those codes cannot be moved to another subject.
  • 24-hour completion window. Unused codes do not expire. However, once a code is activated (the exam is launched), you have a strict 24-hour window to complete and submit the exam. If the exam is not submitted within 24 hours of activation, the session will expire and the code will be void.
  • No pause function. Exams cannot be manually paused to stop the timer. However, in the event of a browser crash or internet failure, your progress is automatically saved. You may resume your attempt within the 24-hour activation window.

04Refunds and consumer guarantees

Our Universal Access Codes provide immediate access to digital content. Therefore, we generally do not offer refunds for "change of mind" once a code has been purchased. However, we fully comply with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. If a technical failure prevents you from accessing the service or the product is not fit for purpose, we will provide a full refund or a replacement code upon verification of the issue.
