Six theory exams stand between a PPL and a Commercial Pilot Licence, and they are a clear step up from the PPL set. This page sets out what each one tests, how long you get, the rules that apply, and how to sit all six, timed and marked, before you sit them for real.

What Part 61 says about CPL theory exams.
Six: Air Law, Human Factors, Meteorology, General Aircraft Technical Knowledge, Flight Navigation General and Principles of Flight and Performance. Rule 61.203 lists them, and all six must be passed within three years of sitting the first.
70%, the same as every written exam under Part 61 (rule 61.17(b)), and a CPL exam credit is valid for three years (rule 61.17(d)).
Longer, more numerical and much wider. Air Law goes from 35 questions to 60 and adds Part 135; Navigation is three hours of computation; AGTK spans 44 sub-topics. The same study habits work, but the volume roughly doubles.
